Decide (and practice) how you will share what you have learned about the history of anatomy and physiology from the Egyptian, Hebrew, and Greek peoples of our past.
Assignment: After considering the four personality traits listed, do the "try this" activity on page 23.

Life of Fred (hereafter referred to as "LOF") Remember: a lot of the material in the first few chapters will be review of very easy stuff!

Chapter 1
Goals:
*understand the concept of less than and know how to use the correct mathematical symbol for "less than."
*be able to tell me the three things most people must do in order to really learn things (page 17)
*complete the assignment (page 17)
*explain this: Pen > Sword

Reading & Assignments:

Read: chapter 1 "Less Than" from page 14 through 17 stopping just before the big box.
Study: three things most people need to do in order to learn something new.
Assignment 1: "Your Turn to Play" on page 17--- Do 1-8 on a sheet of paper and then check your answers. The answers are at the bottom of the big box and continue on page 18. Think highly enough of your education that you don't cheat and look at the answers first!
Assignment 2: Read the material under the big box on page 18. Explain "Pen > Sword" to me and on your math paper, just for fun come up with some more inequalities in your life. For example, in my life I could write "Books > Television" or "Chocolate > Celery" because I think books are greater than tv and I like chocolate a whole lot more than I like those yukky green, stringy stalks of celery.
